Spring Lacrosse
Spring is the main season for Recreational Lacrosse and we will be participating in the Spring League, run by PELA, Pacific Edge Lacrosse Association.
We’ll be playing a number of other Rec Lacrosse Organizations from the Los Angeles area.
Practices
Our first practice for Spring will be Wednesday, 2/28, our practices will then shift to Tuesday 3/5 and Thursday 3/7 evenings. The Wednesday, 2/28 practice is not on the flyer, because it is the only Spring Practice on Wednesday.
Practice Sessions: Tuesday & Thursday Evenings at Campus El Segundo
March 5, 2024 – May 19, 2024
K-2 (Kindergarten-2nd) 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Elementary (3rd-5th) 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Middle School (6th-8th) 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Games
Most games will be played on Saturdays, at Campus El Segundo usually wrapping up by 2pm. There will be some games played at other locations and there will most likely be some Sunday games for Middle School.
Games begin Sat 3/2, Sun 3/3. Regular season games will continue through Sat 5/4, Sun 5/5 followed by Playoffs Sat 5/11, Sun 5/12 and Sat 5/18, Sun 5/19.
No games will be played on the weekend of Sat 3/30, Sun 3/31.
Games will be played in the traditional lacrosse format, half field for K-2, full field for Elementary and Middle School. Games will have Referees.
Uniforms
If you don’t have an Eagles uniform from last season, or your player has grown out of their current uniform, you will need to get a new Uniform. There is a place on the TeamSnap registration to indicate you need a new Uniform. Uniforms are $50. The Uniforms are a reversable top and shorts, they are different from the “Pinnies”.
Syndi Clinton will have roughly 20-25 of the current Uniforms available to check out sizes at next Wednesday’s Winter Practice 2/14 at Campus El Segundo from 5:00pm - 6:30pm. Syndi will also have about 12 older Uniforms which are slightly different, which will be available at a discounted price of $25.
We will not have all sizes, but for those who are registered and have paid for their Uniforms, it will provide an opportunity for several players to get their uniforms early. For those who would like to take advantage of the available discounted Uniforms, we will refund you $25 from the Uniform fee.
For those who do not get a Uniform on Wed 2/14 due to availability, we will have a sign-up sheet to indicate your player’s sizes.
If you are unable to attend next Wednesday’s practice to check out the Uniforms, the order we place should have a Uniform that fits your player. It just helps the ordering process to have as many confirmed sizes as possible. The Uniform order may arrive a couple of weeks after the season starts, but we will use the Pinnies until the new Uniforms arrive.
Discounts
We do have a couple of discounts available which are featured on the flyer.
USA Lacrosse Registration
If you haven’t registered with USA Lacrosse for this year, please use the link provided in the Flyer to register. USA Lacrosse is mandatory for playing in the Spring League.
Costs
We try to keep our costs as low as possible, in order to provide as many players an opportunity to play lacrosse. Our rec program provides one of the lowest costs for Rec Lacrosse registration in the Los Angeles area. However, we understand everything in our lives has become more expensive over the last few years. If you have any questions regarding costs, please reach out to me directly.
Fund Raising
El Segundo Girls Lacrosse is a non-profit and all our revenue goes directly to our program. We do have a number of costs to cover, and we are always looking for new sponsors and accept donations to keep our costs as low as possible. Please reach out to us if you know of any groups who would possibly like to donate or become a sponsor.
Questions?
As always, you are welcome to reach out to me with any questions or require clarification. You can give me a text with your name and question and I’ll sync up with to find a moment to chat or email me.
Thanks again and looking forward to seeing everyone out on the field this spring!
Thanks

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Your player will need a girls lacrosse stick, goggles, and a mouth guard. Dicks Sporting goods is a great place to start as they are here in town and have a good selection of equipment: https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/s/womens-lacrosse
Play it Again Sports in Torrance typically carries a supply of used equipment as well.
WALL BALL! Wall ball is a great way to practice many basic lacrosse techniques such as shooting, passing & catching. It allows you to get in tons of repetitions… and you don’t need a partner! There is a bounce back wall out at Recreation Park in El Segundo, right next to the outdoor in-line hockey rink.
If you should have any questions, please feel free to send a message or contact John:
